Made from aluminum, this atmospheric air bypass valve dumps charge air into the atmosphere, creating the "Whoosh" sound when the throttle is lifted. This increases faster acceleration response and greater clamping load to maintain boost pressure more reliably. Unlike piston or diaphragm bypass valves, this uses balanced springs and dual pistons to prevent the valve from leaking air into the intake system at idle. This prevents our diverter valves from suffering any of the failures associated with piston and diaphragm type diverter valves.
